Jornal das Ciências Médicas de Lisboa is published again

 

On November 13th, the new version of the Journal of the Lisbon Society of Medical Sciences (JSCML) was presented, one of the oldest medical scientific journals in the world.

According to an official statement, the JSCML was first published in 1835 and now returns as an open-access platform (https://jscmed.com), free of charge for authors and publishing in English.

The JSCML will cover topics such as medical education, health technologies, interdisciplinary care, global health and other subjects relevant to different health professionals. The JSCML aims to be a privileged space for university students, encouraging the publication of their studies and protocols. Doctors and other health professionals, researchers, engineers and students are invited to submit their work and perspectives for publication. The JSCML's mission is to inspire positive changes in people's health and well-being, promoting the sharing of knowledge and new ideas that can drive advances in healthcare.

The relaunch of the JSCML has the support of Lisbon's two oldest Medical Schools, which now regard the JSCML as their official scientific publication. This recognition is a testament to the journal's commitment to scientific and ethical rigour, reaffirming its role in the training of health professionals.

Since its founding on December 1, 1822, the Lisbon Society of Medical Sciences has aimed to contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge in all its branches, in both theoretical and applied aspects, at the individual, collective and social levels.
