"Puppets of the World" exhibition by Vítor Assis in Nelas

On display until April 30th at the António Lobo Antunes Municipal Library in Nelas was the "Puppets of the World" exhibition by Vítor Assis. A Portuguese language teacher, he has built an extensive collection that began around the 1970s, with pieces from all corners of the world.
The puppet is an ancient and universal art form, a way of passing on stories and cultural values and preserving traditions through figures animated by strings, gloves or rods, and it can combine theatre, music and the visual arts.
