According to a press release, volunteers will help an APCOI team assemble individual kits with gifts to be given free of charge to children at the 25 schools taking part in the Heróis da Fruta project, taking place on April 26th in Armação de Pêra.
The activity will take place at the Armação de Pêra Parish Council (next to the Armação de Pêra Market).
"Can we count on you?" is the call from Mário Silva, head and coordinator of the national health education programme "Heróis da Fruta", who also stresses that community contributions are essential to keep up APCOI's daily work. "Be heroes, put on the vest and come help," the director urges.
Are you available on Saturday, April 26, 2025? Can you commit an hour or so between 8am and 4pm on that day? Do you believe in the importance of promoting healthy eating among children and want to contribute? Can you travel to Armação de Pêra?
If your answer was YES to all these questions, APCOI needs your help!

"And then, how does it work?" Mário Silva explains that "you just need to show up on April 26th at the Armação de Pêra Parish Council (next to the Armação de Pêra Market) on Rua Bartolomeu Dias, nº 54, 8365-112, Armação de Pêra, during the time slot you chose on the sign-up form. Volunteers should indicate their availability. "You don't need to be there all day, just a bit of your time," the director notes.
