Hayley Williams Sanctuary of Self Love 2020

We know Hayley Williams from her musical career as the lead singer of the band Paramore and now as a solo artist, having recently released the EP “Petals for Armor I”.  In the last years, Hayley has been very vocal about her struggles with depression and traumas. “My dog is the reason I’m alive”, was one of the soundbytes of a radio interview interview earlier this year.

One of the things that helped Hayley overcome those dark periods was film and tv series like “Peppermint” and “Handmaid’s tale” and visualization theraphy, which is a tool that can be an important cognitive tool to access our imagination and analyze all prisms of a situation or outcomes.

Besides using this technique for herself,  Hayley also  envisioned a place that could benefit other people in their health jorney to have improve mental, emotional and spiritual well being. And that’s how her plaza Sanctuary of Self Love in the Bonaroo Music & Arts Festival, in Tennessee (USA) was born.

This is the second year this very special experience curated by the artist will take place at the Nashville Festival, bringing a much needed attention to mental health and the importance of self love. There is group activities to create art and make things together and meditation for those who prefer a quieter and more internal activity. Hayley’s dye company Good Dye Young will also be there to give makeovers.

“The sanctuary is the place to come back to yourself” says the description on Bonnaroo’s website: From mindful practices, yoga, dance sessions to sound bath rituals that soothe your mind and soul and rejuvenate cells, to panel sessions that offer the possibility of sharpening your own inner compass with more mental clarity and personal transformation, the Sanctuary of Self Love promises to deliver a magical and unforgettable experience.

It will also include a healers village that, upon booking, offers massage, aura photography and reiki sessions. It’s located at the edge of a forest, surrounded by nature for “a more relaxed and comfortable celebration of self care” the official Bonnaroo’s website informs.

So whether you need a place of relaxation to reset and recharge from being overwhelmed or connect with yourself and others, if you happen to be in Tennesee in June, Bonnaroo’s is the musical festival to be. A place where, in the words of Hayley Williams, your can have your “own self revelation, creative identity, self expression , celebrating individuality and uniqueness”.

Bonnaroo’s Music & Arts Festival takes place from June 11th to 14th Jule 2020. More information is available at: https://www.bonnaroo.com/
